LadHyX, The Hydrodynamics laboratory of the École polytechnique

The Hydrodynamics laboratory of the École polytechnique (LadHyX) leads theoretical, numerical, and experimental researches on fundamental fluid dynamics. Research activities at LadHyX were in its early years mainly dedicated to the study of instabilities and the transition to turbulence in sheared flows. These research directions have progressively diversified and included new thematics: spatio-temporal disorder, geophysical flows, fluid-structure interactions, flow at low Reynolds number, aeroacoustics, microfluidics, flow control, jet and boundary layer instability, mechanics of living systems, and hydrodynamics at the interfaces.
